Major Arcana And Astrology: Relationship Hypothesis Between The Cards

It’s already been known before that each tarot card has its own astrological association. In major arcana, we use modern astrology association while in minor arcana, we use a traditional one.

In this article, I choose the topic only for Major Arcana and have some hypothesis that each of the cards have some relationship dynamic; if we use some astrological association.

Supporting Relationship in Major Arcana

In astrology, each planet has zodiac that it rules. In here, we use both traditional and modern rulership combined. In astrological sense, when the planet is in it’s rulership zodiac, the planet can express it’s quality to the fullest, in positive or constructive way. And based on that premise, each Major Arcana in tarot card also have some supporting relationship based on those rulership rules.

Therefore, here’s the list of zodiac and each ruler, along with the Major Arcana.

Opposing Relationship in Major Arcana

From the same relationship in astrological sense, we also know that each planet have some “opposing qualities” in each other. Theoretically speaking:

Mars in contrast with Venus
Jupiter in contrast with Saturn

In astrology, Sun symbolize some independent light radiance, also signifies some ego that goes outward; while Moon symbolize the borrowed light from the sun, the mirror of the sun, also ego that goes inward.

Mars in which symbolize initiative, aggressive, driving energy that try to break through every obstacle to achieve the goal; while Venus symbolize to attract, sensuality, energy that try to tame and make every obstacle “submit” to cooperate for achieving the goal.

Jupiter symbolize expansion opportunity, some positive and optimistic improvement, and also looking outward for any good alternative; while Saturn symbolize boundaries, restriction, responsibilities, some rules to bound us into a more realistic approach rather than carelessly positive.

Therefore, here’s some opposing/ contrasting dynamics between Major Arcana based on its astrological association.

Even though this relationship dynamic is in my own hypothesis based on astrology, I’ve found that this dynamic, especially in supporting and opposing one, actually shows in my own reading for my client; making the analysis more in-depth and detailed while keep that card in spread relatively limited and not too much.

Astrology for Saturn: Looking At Your 1 of 2 Challenge Factors in Life

In Astrology, we have 2 planets that give us some challenges in our lives: Mars and Saturn. In modern astrology, those challenging planet (or malefic planet) usually attribute Mars as lesser Malefic and Saturn for greater Malefic.

In Hellenistic Astrology, the challenging aspect of a planet is more dependent on whether our chart is a day chart (born at the sun above the horizon) or a night chart (born when the sun is under the horizon). We won’t go into detail to differentiate them, but a day chart means we can still see the sun’s rays when we are born, and the night chart means it’s dark outside when we are born.

If your birth chart is a day chart, then the more challenging planet is Mars while Saturn become a constructive challenge. If your birth chart is a night chart, then the more challenging planet is Saturn, while Mars become a constructive one.

In this post, we are looking some challenge aspect related to Saturn in each of zodiac sign. So, look at the your own birth chart, locate where the Saturn in which zodiac, and here I have some interpretation for each sign.

Since Saturn is moving slowly, it means we can still gain insight of our own challenge, even though we only knows our birth date and place (even the birth place is relatively less important in this case).

Sample Case Related to Past Life

I’m a little bit skeptical about using that nodal axis for past life and soul purpose indicator in astrology chart. But recently, I’ve found a real-life case that might give me more thought about using the nodal axis for reading about past life.

In astrology reading, we often use South Node and North Node to gain insight related to the past life and the implication of our present. The problem with that approach, according to Chriss Brenan, a Hellenistic Astrologer, is the writings about past life just start to rise relatively recently around 100 years ago. Earlier than that, there’s no writing related to past life using the nodal axis.

From that perspective, to be honest, I’m a little bit skeptical about using that nodal axis for past life and soul purpose indicator in astrology chart. But recently, I’ve found a real-life case that might give me more thought about using the nodal axis for reading about past life.

Some Catch Up About Astrology Methods That I Use

As we know, many astrologers use South Node to get some insight into the native’s past life and any detail related to a past life that ‘bleed’ into the present. And using the knowledge from past life, then we can find in which sector we work/ improve in this present life by using the North Node.

While in general astrology, I’m more relying on Hellenistic Astrology, and in this case, I’m using the annual profection method to indicate the native’s theme of life each year by using their natal chart. For the house system, I’m using WholeSign House System.

In short, in a natal chart, each house can give us some theme of their life each year. Starting from 1st house as when the native just born, 2nd house when the native already 1-year-old, 3rd house when they are 2nd year old, and rotating until 1st house again when they are 12 years old, 24, 36, 48 years old, and so on.

As the bigger theme of the native’s life, we can analyze the planet on a respective house and the house ruler on which the theme of their lives will be correlated.

Enough of the catch-up, and move on to a real case that I’ve found.

Real Sample Case Related to Past Life

This case already has permission from my friend, at the note that I’m sharing only his chart; not the date and time of birth, and only using an alias. So let’s call him “Jake”.

At that time, I’m sitting down with Jake, enjoying a drink in a cafe after a teaching session. I’m holding his chart, which looks like this.

After several talks about astrology in general, while he didn’t hold his chart, and just knew about the planet and zodiac and house in his birth chart (not yet knowing about the nodal axis), he start telling some private stories about how he met his wife.

At the age of 22 (in which he has 11th house profection as his general theme for the year), he is still in a relationship. He got some urge feeling to go sightseeing on the upper floor of the campus where he studied. He didn’t know the reason but just want to go there. When he arrived at the upper floor after several minutes have passed, a woman had just passed through him and somehow he takes an interest in her.

Long story short, by his impulse, he break up with his girlfriend at that time and got closer to this ‘new woman’ he just met. And finally, they are both married and have a stable family.

At first, he didn’t know the real reason why he married his wife, all he know from his viewpoint, it looks like his ‘destiny’ to be with her. Since he’s a person who has an interest in something spiritual, I thought those answers might be expected.

6 years later after he met his wife first time, he knows from his dream and meditation, that his wife is his soulmate from several previous life before. And in each lifetime, they long for each other. After those kinds of vision, he finally accept that and lived a happy life.

Now, for the astrological jargon, at the age of 22 in which his 11th house profection, there’s a south node in there. Saturn in the 11th house also his 7th house ruler, signifies potential marriage or finding the right partner in that year. And as we know, the south node also gives insight into “past live”.

And 6 years later, in which his 5th house profection year, there’s a north node in Leo. 5th house ruler also in 10th house, very near the 11th house cusps. At that time, he finds those marriages because of “past life” stuff. And I think that’s somewhat bizarre but true to his chart.

And on the other hand, this kind of case also open my eyes, maybe the nodal axis as something related to past life can also be studied more in detail after all. Even though this topic about past life just raised only around 100 years.

Are We ‘Destined’ To Be Rich? Some Tips on Reading Someone’s Wealth.

Some clients and students ask me how to read someone’s wealth potential. And one thing about astrology, we can go into a more impromptu style of reading somebody’s chart as long as we know the general archetype of each astrology planet, zodiac, and house.

The bad news is, even though we have some inborn potential to be rich (which can be seen in the birth chart), not all people will have the potential for having some material gain/ income in a big amount. And although the term “Rich” can mean so many things in life, for the sake of this article, let’s just say it means to get some big income, financially.

The Indicator

So, what is the indicator? In short, we need to consider one main factor: sect doctrine from Hellenistic Astrology. If you were born on the day or we said, the day chart, our most benefict planet is Jupiter. Otherwise, for everyone who is born at night, or the night chart, our most benefict planet is Venus.

So yeah, contrary to modern belief that the greater benefict is Jupiter and the lesser benefict is Venus, in Hellenistic tradition, it really depends on whenever you are born day or night to determine the most benefict planet energies for you.

The other factor is the location of Pluto. In most cases, when Pluto is conjunct (or within the orb) with your benefict planet, this can indicate some bigger potential to get money. In most case, the special one is when you have Pluto conjunct Venus or Jupiter in the 2nd house (depends on the day/ night chart), but Pluto conjunct benefict in any other house also indicate the same…, as long as we know which house the conjunction is located and which sector of life that we want to improve.

To sum them up, the indicator from the highest potential are:

Pluto Conjunct Jupiter / Venus in 2nd house, this can be a big one.
Pluto Conjunct Jupiter / Venus in any house besides the 2nd one, this also has a significant potential for material gain.
Jupiter / Venus has a soft aspect with pluto in any house, a good chunk of potential.
Jupiter / Venus in any house, has a moderate potential.

Your Rich Potential’s Location

Here’s my own interpretation of the most benefict planet in each house.

House	Interpretation
1	Can make more money by showing yourself more to the world. Make yourself know/ exist on your respective field of career/ work/ activities.
2	Get some money from trading or any form of tangible object.
3	Teaching knowledge especially a basic/ foundation one, general trading, short-trip transportation, rapid public transportation, getting help from siblings/ close family members, selling stuff for neighbor scale.
4	Family business, all business related to living place especially making the place more comfortable, business related to family living or family tradition.
5	Business/career related to children’s care, creative project, entertainment, premium accessories especially gold accessories, love fling, or gambling.
6	Managerial stuff, social cause, career related to service/ intangible product.
7	Event organizer, networking organizer, any business related to creating written commitment, mediator, law, searching for potential business partner or career coach.
8	Career related to funeral, inheritance, trading secondhand goods, investigation, financial related consultant, anything related to sex.
9	Travel related career, studying/ research about other culture, religion, spirituality, philosophy, astrology, and any kind of higher knowledge.
10	Any career as long as related to corporate and have clear and objective step for improvement.
11	Career related to social cause, media, public relations and communication, technology, or public investment.
12	Everything related to spirituality, career about psychology or related to subconscious – unconscious, therapy field, career related to creating space for isolation/ meditation.

That concludes on tips on reading someone’s wealth potential. Can Astrology Predict The Year of Great Pestilence or Pandemic? Which Year?

Is Astrology can be made archetypally as a tool to predict in which year some pandemic will come to our world?

If we love to read astrology books, I’ve heard in the astrology community that Richard Tarnas already predicted a COVID-19 pandemic from his book that was released in 2006.

So yeah, if some spiritual practitioner, most of the time, predicts some uneasy condition including some catastrophe or pandemic, they usually try to predict 1 year beforehand (as part of next year’s reading), he already predict more than 10 years ago.

But aside from that, is Astrology can be made archetypally as a tool to predict in which year some pandemic will come to our world?

From my own little research, yes…there is. And it’s from an ancient text called Choice Aphorism from The Seven Segments of Cardan, which, most of the time, we can get free in the form of an ebook.

An Aphorism Text That Related to Pandemic

In short, Aphorism text is mostly used for Horary and Electional Astrology. Since it’s more like a proven doctrine from time to time, this aphorism is like a collection of “conclusions” of astrological phenomena along the impact of that in the most direct sentence possible.

And when I’m reading them, I found some interesting passages in the “Choice Aphorism from The Seven Segment of Cardan”, in the “Aphorism Related to General Accident” segment, point 6:

A Conjunction of Mars and Saturn, in the sixth or eighth house, especially in the humane sign, signifies a great Pestilence.

Since house positions are very time sensitive, we can skip them for now, and focus on the word “humane sign”.

The term humane sign itself is a zodiac sign that has a human figure in its depiction. In this case, the zodiac has a human figure…

Virgo, since mostly depicted with a woman, which is mostly a virgin woman.
Libra, in some illustrations, is depicted as a man/ woman who holds a scale (of justice), although this one was still debatable.
Aquarius, in some illustrations, is depicted mostly as a woman who pours water.
Gemini, most illustrations depict them as twins.

In short, when Mars Conjunct Saturn in Virgo, Libra, Gemini, or Aquarius, this will be a time indicator that our world might face some pestilence/ pandemic issue globally.

In Which Year That Was Happening?

Let’s start with a recent moment, which is the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yes, by the time Covid-19 becomes the well-known pandemic, mars conjunct Saturn in Aquarius, a humane sign.

Mars Conjunct Saturn in Libra 31st Juli 2010

Here’s another example of Mars conjunct Saturn in Libra around the middle of 2010. In this case, since Libra is after Virgo, there’s also swine flu that start in 2009 but continues to spread in 2010.

Mars Conjunct Saturn in Aquarius on 6th March 1992

Since in the year 1992, the internet has still not been widely circulated, and it’s getting harder to find some articles about the pandemic. And what I’ve found is a new strain of cholera Virus from Asia that year.

And also, there is still a great influenza virus that spread that year especially H3N2 subtype A.

For the last example, it’s getting harder to trace the disease that becomes a major outbreak at that time. And from googling the internet, I’ve found that the US has some Foodborne disease outbreaks with unidentified pathogens at that time. Here’s the article:

Which Year That We Need to be Aware Of in The Future?

If we use some astrology software, we found the nearest Mars conjunct Saturn is in Gemini in the year 2032, years from the time this article is written.

Astrology Of Love: Can Your BoyFriend/GirlFriend (Directly) Become Your Husband/Wife?

Here goes the same theme but a different approach to Astrology. This time, my purpose is to try to answer some questions “Can my boyfriend/ girlfriend finally marry me? “

Honestly, that question is better asked through horary astrology or synastry astrology. But when just looking at our birth chart potential, we may see the ‘potential relation’ if our boyfriend/girlfriend has direct potential to become our marriage partner directly or if our boyfriend/girlfriend is actually different than our husband/wife.

By different in this case means, there’s a high chance that we actually marry a different person than our type of usual boyfriend/girlfriend, and that can be seen on the chart.

“If your 5th house is somehow related to your 7th house, then there’s a chance that your boyfriend/ girlfriend can become your husband/ wife. Otherwise, you might marry a completely different person than your typical boyfriend/ girlfriend criteria.”

By related means several things:

If the planet in the 5th house has some aspect with the planet on the 7th house
If the planet in the 5th house has some aspect with the ruler of the 7th house
If the ruler of the 5th house has some aspect with the planet of the 7th house
if the ruler of the 5th house has some aspect with the ruler of the 7th house, regardless of the position of each ruler.

And by aspect, it means with major or minor aspects. Even though most of the time, I’m usually using major aspects for this kind of analysis.

Then, let’s go for the example.

For Paris Hilton, her 5th house is in Aries, ruled by Mars, and her 7th house is in Gemini, ruled by Mercury. Her mars is in 4th house and her mercury in her 3rd house. Both mercury and mars have aspect. From this, we can analyse that she married a different person than her usual boyfriend criteria.

And as we know, she married Carter Reum, in which, is her longtime friend for more than 15 years. Some people may argue that a long-time friend is archetypally as close as a neighbor friend, in which it’s 3rd house topic.

Another example…

William, Prince of Wales chart from astro.com

For Prince William, his 5th house is in Aries, ruled by Mars and his 7th house in in Gemini, ruled by Mercury and is in its own rulership. Mercury has trine with Mars in Libra 11th house. So we can analyse that he marries his girlfriend.

As it turns out, William and Kate relationship just being blown open after they graduate from St. Andrew and the rumor of their relationship already knew by their colleagues while still studying. It’s somehow related to mars in 11th house, which covers topic like getting relationship from his own social circle at that time.

And last example…

Lisa Marie Presley Astrology Chart from astro.com

It’s rather hard nowadays to find some person that have somekind of long lasting marriage with boyfriend/ girlfriend, so I’m trying explaining with example with this case, Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of Elvis Presley.

Her 5th house is in Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, and her 7th house is in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn and Uranus. Jupiter doesn’t have an aspect to the sun (a planet in her 7th house) and doesn’t have any aspect to both Saturn and Uranus.

And nowadays, all of her marriage are end up in divorce and all of them are her romantic partner or her boyfriend. This might indicate that she need a different type of man who really different than her usual boyfriend type or she might repeat the same mistake.

One thing that needs to be emphasized here, is by analyzing this chart dynamically, doesn’t mean that we can marry our romantic partner 100%. It just tells us that we need some effort to make our boyfriend/ girlfriend become our husband/ wife.

Medical Astrology, A Quick Lesson Part 3

In this part, I’m using a birth chart combined with transit to determine the source of sickness and some recommendations about which doctor you need to consult if those diseases are in a worrying state.

Not all kinds of sicknesses are born from our genetic factors. In some cases, even some type of “human error” like too much eating, too much drinking, and less exercise than usual may lead to some potential disease.

How to Identify The Source of Disease: Method 2, TRANSIT

In this method, we have to know two important things:

The client’s birth chart
Planetary transit chart at the first time the client feels some disease

Most of the time, client’s didn’t know the exact time they experienced the pain the first time, so just set 12:00 p.m as transit time. Alternatively, if the client didn’t know the exact date he feels the pain, then just use the date he goes into bed because of disease or the date that he goes to the clinic/ hospital. Otherwise, if the worst case comes that he didn’t know when at all, just use “today and current time” transit, more like a horary analysis.

And for example, we use “Clare” as a sample birth chart.

On 2 August 2022, Clare told me that her skin somehow become more rash than usual and she felt some kind of fatigue sensation in her back. She thought that she didn’t do any kind of work that really push her and she get adequate sleep. She asked me whether she have the wrong position when she sleep or if anything contributed to her rash skin and fatigue back.

She thinks that she felt something was off at around 31st July 2022. So I’m using her birth chart and the transit on 31st July as the base for analysis.

Here’s the transit for 31st July 2022…

Then I’m combining those 2 charts to become like the one below, using the solar fire app.

In this chart, we found an interesting pattern. Clare’s natal pluto in Scorpio has 2 squares, with transit Uranus (which was in retrograde at that time) in Aquarius and transit mercury in Leo.

In medical astrology, Saturn rules the skin or frame of the body, Pluto rules our body at the cellular level, and Mercury rules our nervous system. Since Clare said she feels fatigued in her back (fatigue also related to the nervous system), and her skin becomes rash (that’s typically Saturn), I think these aspects are worth analyzing. While Pluto in general can’t tell us about a specific part of the body, we can see her natal Pluto, which has 2 squares, is in Scorpio.

Scorpio, besides ruling the reproductive system, also rules a potential for -reinfection from food-, while Aquarius (where transit Saturn is) rules her spinal column, unsurprisingly Leo (where transit mercury at) also rules the spinal cord, which both of them are disease related to back fatigue. Since Saturn is on her 9th house and Mercury is on the 3rd house, which both of them are the house of travel, I’m asking her if recently, before 31st July, she made some short/ long travel to another area that’s outside her every day’s activities and maybe eat something unusual.

The answer is a yes, although the term “unusual” means she hasn’t eaten that kind of food for a long time. Turns out at that time, she eats some seafood that is grilled in the open air environment (that’s literally related to Fire in Leo, Water in Scorpio, and Air in Aquarius for you!). It’s not that the food in there isn’t hygiene, but because she finally eats that grilled seafood, Clare has raised her appetite for grilled seafood and since then, she has always looked at grilled seafood as her lunch at a different place.

Because of eating grilled seafood every day at different places, I think one of those places she eats, has some environment that’s not really hygienic. And that’s what contributes to her food poisoning.

So, my recommendation to her at that time is just to avoid grilled seafood and eat in a hygiene restaurant, for now, to let her body heal itself from food infection. Even if she wants to consult with a doctor, I’m recommending just a general Doctor or internist. She accept my recommendation and now she’s recovered from food poisoning.

One of the advantages of Medical Astrology is to help find the source of disease, which sometimes doesn’t directly relate, faster than usual medical check-ups. It’s not meant to replace the analysis from medical professionals, but it might help to find the root cause of the disease, which in most cases, the patient needs to overcome some procedural test before the doctor makes some diagnosis. It can also help us to get some recommendations on which doctor they need to consult if the disease is in a worrying state.

Medical Astrology, A Quick Lesson Part 2

In this post, I’m sharing the 1st method I’m using just for a quick reading session for a client that asking for a brief medical consideration.

After we understand the significance of zodiac and planet in medical astrology, now it’s time to move unto how to analyze potential illnesses that we have from our birth chart.

For that, I need to make some disclaimers first. This medical astrology is used as an alternative diagnosis and can not replace the main medical diagnosis provided by medical professionals. Astrology, especially medical astrology only read the potential illness and its source and doesn’t mean it will manifest in your life. All medication for treatment, if some medical astrologer provides that, is advisable to consult a person which is professional in the respective medical field before you really take those.

How To Identify Our Potential Sickness From Our Chart: Method 1, Fast General Reading

In this post, I’m sharing the 1st method I’m using just for a quick reading session for a client that asking for a brief medical consideration. And from this method only, we need to give some information beforehand that this is just a quick reading for potential illness to a client, for more detailed diagnosis in astrology, usually, we need to do another session just for that topic. I’ll share the more detailed reading for medical consideration in part 3 of this post.

The first method is simple, we use Saturn as a significator for potential sickness that comes from within, and Chiron for potential sickness that comes from outside. Just see where the Saturn and Chiron are in the client’s chart.

For example…

In Robert’s chart, we see Saturn in Scorpio and Chiron in Gemini.

As Saturn in Scorpio, we can see Robert’s potential illnesses are in his reproductive system, prostate gland, AND food poisoning. We just tell him that potential illness that comes from his own body and sees which one is more makes sense to him. Most of the time, food poisoning is more common. It might be because he usually so much trial and error with any kind of food ingredients in his house (house 4 gives us information about the home situation), and sometimes, his trial and error become so extreme (pluto in 4th house) that food poisoning is a common occurrence to him.

While Chiron is in Gemini, we can see Robert’s potential illness is in his arm, shoulder, central nervous system, or kidney tube. Again, we just tell him about that potential illness and just tell him to be very careful. If somehow he got some accident, his arm, shoulder, nervous system, or his body’s tube will likely be impacted.

As for how for him to be careful, just see in which house Chiron falls into. In this case, 11th house. It means those accidents are likely to happen if he’s not careful in socializing or interacting with his friend or communities. It might also mean that if he spent too much time on something related to technological advancement or too much work to achieve his hope and dreams (11th house topic), then he most likely experience some accident that harm his arm or body’s tube in the future.

Let’s see another example…

Assume the name of this chart is Joe, we can see Chiron is in Aries, 2nd house and Saturn is in Aquarius, 12th house.

Chiron in Aries rules the head and motor center of the brain, also blood circulation to the head. Joe needs to be careful especially when he does something related to his 2nd house (money, material possession matters), because there’s the potential of harming his head.

For example, if he’s overworked himself simply because his job/ project rewards lots of money in a short time and he wants that job to finish as soon as possible, it’s likely he’ll get a headache.

Saturn in Aquarius, rules the calves, ankles, blood circulation, eyes, and nerve system in the spinal column. From this one, he has some potential to injure his calves or ankles or have some abnormal blood circulation because of his mind in a constant negative situation or bad mood for a long time or too much thinking psychologically or too much sleep (12th house topic).
