Saturn’s Influence Across Astrological Houses (part 2 of 2)

This Saturn article is the continuation of the previous one about Saturn’s responsibility in astrology charts. If the previous one mentioned about Saturn in each zodiac, then this one will be about Saturn in each house.

As for the first article about Saturn, here’s the link.

Even though Saturn can be considered a social planet and shares some generational traits for around 2 years in each zodiac, in “house case”, those responsibilities will be felt differently depending on the time we were born; since technically, house’s chart will change around 2 hours.

Here’s the definition for each Saturn in each house

Saturn in house no.Responsibilities
1Having responsibilities in general. Usually, Saturn in the 1st suggests some necessary delay in gaining everything, but also a highly disciplined and structured individual. Also suggesting some long-term though approach and willing to delay the comfort for a greater “return” after some hard work.
2Responsibilities related to material and financial affair. People with Saturn in 2nd house, usually having some characteristic of high income and high expenditure at the same time. It’s not because they are lavish spending; but more because they usually become somekind of backbone for their family. This kind of responsibilities lead them to giving some financial support for other members of family, at the cost of their own comfort/ lifestyle compared to other people who have some level of income.
3Responsibilities related to communication and intellectual. This people with saturn in 3rd house, usually can listen to other people’s sharing and then compiled them into a more structured information.

On the other hand, they also can set some boundaries about which statement they can speak of to outside and which is to be better held to avoid unecessary conflict.
4Responsibilities related to family matters. In some case, have some protective qualitiy to parent figure who establish rule in their family (mostly to mother figure).
People with Saturn in their 4th house, usually have some responsibilities to protect and setting boundaries within family, especially related to integrating family rules when interacting with outside people.
5Responsibilities toward children, entertainment, or love relationship.
People with Saturn in their 5th house can have some constructive potential; either they will treat their own children responsibly or becoming some “father figure” for any children; having some built-in responsibilities or boundaries while they enjoying any kind of entertainment (including gambling); or also dating with responsible attitude.
6Responsibilities include routine work, office work, or public service activities.
People with Saturn in their 6th house might have a higher sense of responsibility in their office or routine work. They might try to finish their job desk on time or earlier than targeted, and usually perform consistently on the everyday work or public service, regardless of whether their superior appreciates them or not.
On the other hand, because of their high responsibilities regarding their work, they also tend to overwork themselves and might negatively impact their own health.
7Responsibilities towards relationship and colaboration.
People with Saturn placement in their 7th house, have some boundaries and rules related to relationship to their own spouse. They might have some rigid boundaries with their spouse, but this is to ensure that their work affair are not emotionally bleed into their spouse if possible.
On the other hand, they also take collaboration seriously with clear target and goal to evaluate the collaborative performance. It might sound cold and rigid, but also gave clear and objective renumeration potential if collaboration target is met.

People with Saturn placement in their 9th house can have a clear structure (in their mind) about how to deliver the “higher knowledge” or communicate “foreign tradition” to lay people.
On the other hand, these people also have some inner discipline for anything related to spiritual/religious practice, or have some structured plan related to traveling abroad.
10Responsible towards their own career and reputation.

People with Saturn placement in their 11th house, might have some boundaries in their social environment. They might have select and categorized their friend based on career approach. It might sound too materialistic and benefit based, but this also make the friendship long-lasting and less likely betrayed or taking advantage in negative way.
12Some limitation/ boundaries related to unconscious.
People with Saturn placement in their 12th house, tend to have clearer mind when they are alone or in a place like retreat session or in “isolated from the outworld” situation. This placement also can be meant two things regarding the Saturn’s condition itself: either this can make people have disciplined and structured thought rooted in their uncosncious mind, or they have some illness that limited their way of thought.

It’s already been known before that each tarot card has its own astrological association. In major arcana, we use modern astrology association while in minor arcana, we use a traditional one.

In this article, I choose the topic only for Major Arcana and have some hypothesis that each of the cards have some relationship dynamic; if we use some astrological association.

Just for reference, here’s astrology association for Major Arcana.

Supporting Relationship in Major Arcana

In astrology, each planet has zodiac that it rules. In here, we use both traditional and modern rulership combined. In astrological sense, when the planet is in it’s rulership zodiac, the planet can express it’s quality to the fullest, in positive or constructive way. And based on that premise, each Major Arcana in tarot card also have some supporting relationship based on those rulership rules.

Therefore, here’s the list of zodiac and each ruler, along with the Major Arcana.

Opposing Relationship in Major Arcana

From the same relationship in astrological sense, we also know that each planet have some “opposing qualities” in each other. Theoretically speaking:

  • Sun in contrast with Moon
  • Mars in contrast with Venus
  • Jupiter in contrast with Saturn

In astrology, Sun symbolize some independent light radiance, also signifies some ego that goes outward; while Moon symbolize the borrowed light from the sun, the mirror of the sun, also ego that goes inward.

Mars in which symbolize initiative, aggressive, driving energy that try to break through every obstacle to achieve the goal; while Venus symbolize to attract, sensuality, energy that try to tame and make every obstacle “submit” to cooperate for achieving the goal.

Jupiter symbolize expansion opportunity, some positive and optimistic improvement, and also looking outward for any good alternative; while Saturn symbolize boundaries, restriction, responsibilities, some rules to bound us into a more realistic approach rather than carelessly positive.

Therefore, here’s some opposing/ contrasting dynamics between Major Arcana based on its astrological association.

Even though this relationship dynamic is in my own hypothesis based on astrology, I’ve found that this dynamic, especially in supporting and opposing one, actually shows in my own reading for my client; making the analysis more in-depth and detailed while keep that card in spread relatively limited and not too much.
